Our Curriculum
Loved, Inspired, Shining
At St Alphege CE Infant School we recognise the value of a broad, balanced and creative curriculum underpinned by the school’s Christian vision and values. We ensure that well-being is at the heart of all we do and aim to develop a life-long love of learning within our pupils. We have worked with all stakeholders to develop a curriculum that embraces enquiry, awe and wonder and creativity. Our curriculum focusses on the teaching of essential skills needed for developing creative, confident and independent learners.
Every child in our St Alphege family is recognised as unique and individual. We celebrate their strengths and differences with an individualised learning approach and aim to ensure that their potential is maximised through engagement in all areas of the curriculum.
We believe that all children should experience learning beyond the classroom and embrace the locality in which we sit. The school has strong connections with the local community; therefore children are given the opportunity to enrich their learning through engagement with creative professionals. We aim to give all of our children experiences outside of the classroom by going on local visits and utilising our diverse community.
Children leave St Alphege with a sense of belonging both to the school family and the wider community. Having developed interpersonal skills, built their resilience and learnt how to work as part of a team, children are able to carry these attributes with them throughout their learning journey.
We want every member of the St Alphege family to go home each day with joy and shine like a light in the world.
